Abstract
⺠Beclin-1 is an important protein involved in autophagy. ⺠In Alzheimer's, the depletion of this protein may lead to neurodegeneration. ⺠We examined if Beclin-1 is cleaved by caspases in the Alzheimer's brain. ⺠Results indicate depletion of Beclin-1 in Alzheimer's due to cleavage by caspases.
