Abstract
⺠AMPA GluA1 knockout mice (KO) show depression- and schizophrenia-related behaviors. ⺠Here we tested GluA1 KO for mania-related abnormalities. ⺠KO showed manic-like behavior, including locomotor hyperactivity, in various tests. ⺠Lithium treatment normalized some of these behaviors and prefrontal abnormalities. ⺠GluA1 KO may provide a novel tool for studying schizoaffective disorder.
