► Many studies seek to test lateralization in the auditory cortex using M/EEG. ► Increased curvature and larger area was found in left auditory structures. ► Our data show increased curvature results in larger current cancelation. ► Anatomical asymmetry can result in a rightward bias in M/EEG signal estimates.
