Comparison of psychophysical, electrophysiological, and fMRI assessment of visual contrast responses in patients with schizophrenia

► Previous findings of psychophysical contrast sensitivity deficits were replicated. ► MRI deficits to only some of the contrast sensitivity stimuli were found. ► Deficits in electrophysiological measures of visual gain control were replicated. ► Normal recruitment of visual cortical areas was seen in a corresponding fMRI task. ► Psychophysical, electrophysiological, and fMRI measures were dissociated.
