Abstract
⺠We used MRI to map brain function and structure in rats prone to alcohol-addiction. ⺠Rats vulnerable to alcohol-abuse show reduced frontal grey matter and metabolism. ⺠The effect mapped is consistent with findings in abstinent alcoholics. ⺠These abnormalities represent a plausible endophenotype of vulnerability to alcoholism.
