Abstract
► We investigated the need of triggering the diffusion MRI acquisitions in infants. ► Cardiac artifacts affect a larger portion of the infant brain than that of adults. ► In infants the time cost of cardiac triggering can be minimal compared to adults. ► The minimal overhead of ECG lead set up is outweighed by the improved data quality. ► Using cardiac triggering is feasible for improving diffusion imaging in infants.
