Abstract
⺠Mental arithmetic and finger discrimination rely on common parietal areas in adults. ⺠Parietal activation induced by finger discrimination is not hand-specific. ⺠Voxelwise correlations between tasks are used to explore further the neural overlap. ⺠Neural overlap varies as a function of hemisphere and arithmetic operation. ⺠Finger representations might offer a support for arithmetic operations.
