Abstract
⺠We examine control over an immediately rewarding stimulus in order to obtain a larger delayed reward. ⺠Inhibitory control efficiency was improved during a reward-related Go/No-go condition. ⺠Associated with BOLD signal hypoactivity in regions implicated in emotion and inhibitory control. ⺠Associated with BOLD signal hypoactivity in regions implicated in visual attention. ⺠Gratification can be delayed by disengaging attention from an immediately rewarding stimulus.
