Abstract
⺠The application of layer-by-layer assembly for functionalization of the emulsion surfaces was successfully proven. ⺠Multifunctional emulsion nanocontainers were able to encapsulate, retain and release on demand of the active material. ⺠Layer-by-layer functionalization of the emulsion increases its mechanic and agglomeration stability. ⺠Both polymer and Pickering (colloidosomes) emulsions can be functionalized by layer-by-layer assembly. ⺠Layer-by-layer approach allows the surface functionalization with biopolymers, polyelectrolytes, nanoparticles.
