Abstract
► Responses to specular surfaces were examined in macaque visual cortex using fMRI. ► Wide regions along the ventral visual pathway were responsive to specular surfaces. ► Distinct regions in the inferior temporal cortex were responsive to specular surfaces. ► These activities could not be explained by the contrasts of images.
