Abstract
⺠In threatening situations time perception is impaired while some memories are enhanced. ⺠Our findings suggest that distorted time perception and enhanced memory are linked. ⺠Neuroimaging showed an associated network in prefrontal cortex, amygdala and insula. ⺠Insula activity correlated with memory performance only during overestimation of time.
