Abstract
⺠Role of spatial frequency (SF) in Kanji-Kana reading was assessed with fMRI. ⺠Close links between high SF and Kanji and between low SF and Kana were found. ⺠Kanji and Kana are processed in the left inferotemporal and inferior parietal areas.
