Abstract
⺠We present how analysis of neonatal EEG can be based on its own characteristics. ⺠We develop protocols to study phase synchrony of both oscillations and events. ⺠We apply these protocols to study dense array EEG from early preterm babies. ⺠Our methods disclose novel changes in cortical connectivity after brain lesion. ⺠The observed changes are compatible with later neurocognitive sequelae.
