Abstract
► Minimizing scanning time increases the rate of successful MRI studies in children. ► To this effect, assessing two cognitive domains in one task would be helpful. ► The control condition of an existing language task was hypothesized to require visuospatial functions. ► Activation patterns from assessing this control condition overlapped with those of a visuospatial reference task. ► We conclude that assessing two cognitive domains using one “dual use” fMRI task is feasible.
