Abstract
âºEncoding and decoding can be described in terms of a linearizing feature space. âºEncoding models can provide complete functional descriptions; decoding models cannot. âºDecoding models can relate activity directly to behavior; encoding models cannot. âºAn encoding model is more easily converted to a decoding model than vice versa.
