Abstract
► I investigated neural circuits that deal with counterfactual sentence truth-value. ► RIFG was more sensitive to counterfactual truth-value than to real-world truth-value. ► Larger RIFG sensitivity is consistent with work on discourse and figurative language. ► Overall, false sentences elicited wide-spread activation across semantic network.
