►Scanner noise reduces evoked responses, but hardly affects network relations. ►Low-frequency resting state fluctuations are promoted by continuous scanner noise. ►Scanner noise significantly influences neurodynamics throughout the brain. ►Detection of functional connections does not require 'sparse' scanning.
