Abstract
⺠To investigate cortical thickness in adolescents with and without scoliosis. ⺠Fifty AIS patients with were compared with 40 age-matched controls. ⺠Cortical thickness declined significantly in normal subjects. ⺠The effect of geometric imperfection on the strength of CFST arches was studied. ⺠Cortical thickness decline was weakly correlated with age in AIS patients. ⺠Thickness in motor and vestibular cortical areas was different in AIS.
