Abstract
⺠Brain imaging studies use small monetary rewards that have limited buying power. ⺠High pay-offs with 100s of trials are prohibitive in fMRI experiments due to high cost. ⺠Two experiments investigated hypothetical rewards along with small actual reward. ⺠Reward regions were found to be activated by hypothetical and imaginary rewards.
