Abstract
► Event related potentials (ERPs) are important in clinical and basic neuroscience. ► The generating mechanisms of ERPs are not clearly identifiable to date. ► Our method quantifies additive evoked response contributions (AECs) to the ERP. ► It separates AECs from phase-reset and induced contributions. ► We show the coexistence of AECs and at least one other mechanism in man and macaque.
