Abstract
âºSimultaneous NIRS and fMRI recording without hypercapnia. âºQuantification of both hemodynamics and metabolic parameters from SVD patients during a simple motor task. âºIn SVD patients, we observed the followings: oxy-hemoglobin, total-hemoglobin, blood oxygenation level-dependent (BOLD) response, cerebral blood flow (CBF), and CMRO2 were decreased significantly in the primary motor and somatosensory cortices. âºOxygen extraction fraction was increased. âºFlow-metabolism coupling ratio, n, which represents the neurovascular coupling showed a robust reduction.
