Abstract
⺠Better memory for visual compared to auditory stimuli. ⺠fMRI experiment for the examination of the neural correlate. ⺠Effect explained by an interaction of attention and cross-modal interference. ⺠Cross-modal interference was more pronounced in the auditory system. ⺠In auditory cortex, this interference was further modulated by attention.
