Abstract
⺠With fMRI we investigated the existence of a neural time 'accumulator'. ⺠Accumulator like activity was found in putamen, insula and mid temporal cortex. ⺠This effect was time and modality specific. ⺠This result points to 'accumulation' as plausible mechanism for time perception. ⺠It highlights the specific functional contribution of brain areas in interval timing.
