Abstract
This review outlines major developments in the characterization of functionalized microgel morphologies, highlighting the use of kinetic and thermodynamic modeling to predict microgel morphologies and compositional gradients, the characterization of near-surface regions of microgels using atomic force microscopy and cryo-transmission electron microscopy, the fitting and interpretation of neutron scattering profiles of microgels, and the application of macroscopic phase transition measurements to microstructure analysis.
