Abstract
►Increasing animacy experience recruits brain regions of the Social Neural Network.►Decreasing animacy experience activates brain regions of the Mirror Neuron System.►Interactive movements (e.g. movements of approach) are perceived as more animated, and recruit the Social Neural Network, including the amygdala and the temporal pole.
