Abstract
► roGFP1 is an innovative optical probe reporting ROS dynamics and redox changes. ► endogenous ROS formation and subcellular ROS microdomains are detected reliably. ►roGFP1 is also well suited for complex preparations and two-photon microscopy. ► with its optical/response properties roGFP1 is superior to redox-sensitive dyes. ► it is a valuable tool to decipher ROS-signaling in normal/diseased brain function.
