Abstract
⺠Stuttering participants were scanned during speech with and without auditory pacing. ⺠Stuttering speakers showed smaller signal change at the basal ganglia than controls. ⺠The pacing selectively increased the activation of the STG of stuttering speakers. ⺠Neural activity reflects the stuttering severity rather than the stuttering rate.
