Abstract
⺠Drug-related stimuli acquire incentive motivational properties. ⺠Control, ex-smokers and smokers completed attentional bias and go/no-go tasks. ⺠Ex-smokers exhibited more prefrontal neural activity than controls and smokers. ⺠May suggest “top-down” cognitive control promotes nicotine abstinence.
