Abstract
⺠Sweat is inherently social yet not verbally identified and does not bias anxiety. ⺠Socially anxious people show reduced orbitofrontal (OFC) response to sweat. ⺠No such effect is observed in the amygdala. ⺠An inherent lack of OFC responsiveness to social stimuli may underlie social anxiety.
