Abstract
⺠Expected years of life lost (EYLL) quantifies the health benefit for prevention. ⺠We estimated EYLL for six potentially preventable cancers in the US. ⺠Lung cancer had a great average EYLL of over 13 years. ⺠EYLL would be substantial for lung cancer, breast cancer, and colorectal cancer. ⺠Estimates of EYLL may inform prioritization of strategies for cancer prevention.
