Abstract
► We examine the effects of the heterogeneity on probe diffusion in κ-carrageenan gels. ► Probe diffusion in κ-carrageenan gels as seen by FRAP is compared to NMRd data. ► Combining FRAP, TEM and rheology gives insight to probe diffusion in κ-carrageenan. ► We provide insight to probe selection for FRAP.
