Abstract
Tracheostomy does not guarantee that MV is effective during sleep, as IULs may occur, but ensures better nocturnal gas exchanges than NIV. DMD patients should be evaluated using at least blood gas measurement, nocturnal oximetry, and PtcCO2 monitoring.
