Abstract
⺠Pattern recognition receptors respond to a wide variety of bacterial pathogens in the lung. ⺠IL-23 stimulates innate production of IL-17 and IL-22 which increase lung defenses. ⺠CD4+ T cell subtypes play a critical role in orchestrating lung immunity. ⺠Lung epithelia can modulate B cell maturation through BAFF and APRIL.
