Abstract
⺠Viruses are the commonest etiological agent of acute respiratory disease. ⺠Disease prognosis alters with underlying co-morbidities/co-infections. ⺠An etiological diagnosis/immune signature will enable targeted treatment strategies. ⺠Focused immune-modulatory strategies will complement vaccination and anti-virals. ⺠Mediators of inflammatory resolution hold promise as therapeutic targets.
