Abstract
⺠Primary source of IL-17A is TCRγδ+ T cells from the murine female genital tract. ⺠IL-17A producing TCR γδ+ T cells have different characteristics from splenic TCRγδ+ T cells. ⺠IL-17A producing TCRγδ+ T cells are not affected by microflora and virus infection. ⺠Absence of IL-17A delays death of mice after vaginal HSV-2 infection.
