Abstract
Recent studies suggest that γδ T cells are innate IL-17 producers owing to unique features of their developmental program. A key contribution of this subset to T helper 17 responses has been also suggested by numerous physiopathological studies mainly performed in mouse models. In the present review, we will summarize the main features of IL-17-producing γδ T cells and highlight the similarities and differences between murine γδ T cells and their human counterparts.
