Abstract
- High prevalence and infection burden of Anisakis larvae in the spotted mackerel was identified from Taiwanese waters.
- A. pegreffii, the important agent of human anisakiasis, was the dominant species.
- The two restriction enzymes HinfI and HhaI are sufficient to classify different Anisakis spp.
- A molecular taxonomic key enabled the rapid differentiation of Anisakis species.
