Abstract
												- Carboxypeptidase A gene was cloned from An. culicifacies.
- The gene was found up regulated upon blood feeding.
- The expression was found limited to midgut only.
- Upstream regulatory regions of the gene may be useful in driving of anti-parasitic molecule in transgenic mosquitoes.
- Phylogenetically the gene was found most close to An. gambiae CPA.
