Abstract
- We studied the distribution of T. cruzi subpopulations in different tissues during murine acute infection.
- The isolates used consisted of a mixture of two different T. cruzi lineages or DTUs.
- The parasite was present in most of the samples analyzed.
- Different parasite populations were found in blood and tissues from the same host.
- Variations were found within the same tissue and within the same lineage.
