Abstract
- The mitochondrial localization of HslVU is definitely established in trypanosomatids.
- HslV is essential for the bloodstream forms of Trypanosoma brucei, like for procyclics.
- Contrasting with previous works, HslU1 also appears essential to parasite survival.
- HslV and HslU1 appear to be involved in the control of different cell cycle events.
- These data validate HslVU as a promising drug target against these parasites.
