Abstract
- Both Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus are considered the vectors of dengue fever.
- Ae. aegypti appears only below the Tropic of Cancer in the south of Taiwan.
- Distribution of indigenous dengue cases highly overlaps where Ae. aegypti breeds.
- The dengue outbreak is initiated by Ae. aegypti, mostly in southern Taiwan.
