Abstract
Predictive risk maps of the global distribution of dengue are presented, with an emphasis on the risk to Europe, which is currently regarded as low. Map of environmental distances (legend: Mahalanobis Distance) of sites in Europe to sites globally where dengue already occurs. Pale areas on this map indicate places that are more suitable for dengue establishment than are the dark areas (call outs are where autochthonous transmission of dengue has occurred recently).
