Abstract
- We describe Sergentomyia (Parrotomyia) jerighatiansis sp. nov. from India.
- Recumbent hairs, transverse row of teeth in cibarium and pigment patch confirm genus Sergentomyia feature.
- Aedeagus projection in â and capsulated spermathecae in â confirm subgenus Parrotomyia characteristics.
- Multiple rows of denticles in ventral plate of cibarium is conspicuous proximally and inconspicuous distally in â and â.
- These taxonomic features differentiate Se. (Par.) jerighatiansis spec. nov. from other species in the sub genus Parrotomyia.
