Abstract
⺠The commercial turmeric extract curcuminoids were isolated in high purity. ⺠Di-O-demethylcurcumin, di-O-methylcurcumin and the di-O-acetyl curcumin were synthesized. ⺠Curcumin showed LC50 value of 19.07 mg Lâ1 against Culex pipiens larvae ⺠Di-O-demethylcurcumin showed LC50 value of 12.42 mg Lâ1 against C. pipiens larvae. ⺠Aromatic substitution pattern plays significant role in larvicidal efficacy.
