Abstract
⺠Two novel distinctive and putative functional glutathione transferases from E. granulosus (EgGST2 and EgGST3) are described. ⺠Gene structure and protein sequence analyses suggest that GST2 and GST3 belong to the Sigma-class of GSTs. ⺠GST3 seems to be exclusively present in the class Cestoda. ⺠GST3 has a Cys as a putative catalytic residue. This may be implicated in particular roles of the protein.
