Abstract
⺠Piperovatine and piperlonguminine are potent growth inhibitors of T. cruzi. ⺠The compounds inhibited the parasite proliferation and caused drastic ultrastructural alterations. ⺠The compounds induced ultrastructural changes by flow cytometry and electron microscopy. ⺠Fluorescence microscopy and ultrastructural assays suggest an autophagic cell death.
