Abstract
⺠We carried out an immunological screening of Chagas disease in 15,767 pregnant women. ⺠We have shown that 23.6% of pregnant women were infected by Trypanosoma cruzi. ⺠We concluded that annual incidence of congenital Chagas disease was 595 per 100,000 births. ⺠We observed a significant difference between hospitals due to their recruitment.
