Abstract
► Cambodian farmers rank foot-and-mouth disease second in terms of frequency and losses. ► As the disease mortality is low, livestock owners see no benefit in reporting it. ► The 2009 village incidence in Svay Rieng province was estimated at 44% by the serological approach. ► Participatory epidemiology seems useful to value disease impacts at household level in the Cambodian setting. ► The Se, Sp of participatory epidemiology were estimated at 87% and 30%, respectively.
