Abstract
⺠The first study on potential schistosomiasis epidemic in the Three Gorge Dam reservoir area from both the population and health system's perspectives. ⺠The residents were exposed to multiple risks of schistosomiasis infection. ⺠The health personnel had little knowledge and experience on schistosomiasis prevention and control. ⺠Surveillance and health education have been minimally conducted. ⺠Comprehensive intervention plan is urgently to be developed and implemented.
