Abstract
⺠Imported tropical infections are expected to increase in Romania and nowadays students are going to face them more often. ⺠The majority of the 346 questioned students had heard about malaria (97.7%) before studying parasitology. ⺠About a quarter of those interviewed (26.4%) would agree to practice tropical medicine after graduation. ⺠Only 4.9% of those interviewed had read at least a scientific paper or book in the field of tropical medicine. ⺠The majority (71.6%) of the students expressed their wish to practice the specialty of travel medicine.
